Lisa Collins is a choreographer, performer, dance competition adjudicator, master teacher, talent agent and dance studio owner.
Lisa was honoured with the award “Roger's Woman of the Year”, Arts and Culture for her contributions to the area of Kitchener-Waterloo. Lisa was nominated for the 2014 Art & Culture Award in Waterloo, Ontario.
Lisa's students can be found dancing around the world on multiple cruise lines, with Ballet Jorgen, The National Ballet of Canada, Drayton Entertainment and on film and television. Past students have also been accepted into and attend Ryerson University's esteemed dance program. Lisa's passion while teaching is to help young dancers achieve their ultimate best and her “signature” in the industry is her ability to provide high quality technical training.
Lisa is a versatile dancer/teacher and trained in all forms of dance in Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto, Miami, New York and Los Angeles. Lisa had a successful performance career of her own as a dancer for over a decade. Her credits include many cruise ship contracts as a Dance Captain/Dancer/Flyer, company work (Jazz & Modern), theatre, the NBA & CFL, various TV and film credits and Industrial/Corporate jobs across North America.
After deciding to end her career on stage, Lisa opened LMC Productions. LMC Productions became a casting agency, facilitating Canadian talent and work on board cruise ships in their Production Shows. LMC Productions has installed Production Shows with Celebrity Cruise Lines/FJM Productions & Japan Cruise Lines.
Lisa produced KW's Annual Choreographer's Snow Balls. This show featured local choreographers and was featured on CTV. Lisa teaches professional level classes across Southwestern Ontario at workshops, Universities and at her own studio. Lisa was a weekly faculty member at Metro Movement Dance Studio in Toronto for 4 years, one of Canada's leading professional training schools. Lisa has adjudicated dance competitions across Canada.
Lisa developed the workshop program GET EXPOSED, a workshop program designed to expose young dancers to leading professionals in the arts industry.
Lisa opened her own dance studio, IN.MOTION School of the Performing Arts 11 years ago. IN.MOTION is now a leading dance studio, winning multiple overall awards and choreography awards. IN.MOTION was recently featured as one of Kitchener-Waterloo's featured businesses on “Roger's Grand River Living” and was awarded the KW Record's Platinum Reader's Choice Awards.
Community work & giving back is important to Lisa. Lisa developed the IN.MOTION CARES PROGRAM, a volunteer based program within her studio. Lisa, her students and studio parents run multiple food drives, sponsor local families in need through the Sertoma Club, teach dance classes at local YMCAs, sent over 120 Christmas Boxed Gift to children all over the world through “Operation Christmas Child” & perform at charity & city events.
Lisa is continually honoured to share her passion of the arts with those around her & is eternally grateful for all that this wonderful industry has brought to her life.
