Emily began her dance training at the age of four and has continued to learn and grow as a professional dancer. She has trained and competed in tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, acro, hip hop and improvisation. Emily has expanded her theory of tap and ballet by successfully passing her RAD and Tap Syllabus (trained under Andrew Prashad) exams.
Emily has enjoyed success at competitions around Ontario and the United States such as placing in the Top 3 Overall Senior soloist and receiving a T3 Award 2 years in a row from Terpsichore Dance Celebration. Emily has also received multiple scholarships from competitions and conventions such as "Top Senior Tap" and "Senior Most Versatile" from The View Dance Convention (2017).
Emily has had many opoportunities to showcase her talent such as being a part of a professional Tap company called BTB, Bringing Tap Back. She trained under the intermediate/senior company for 5 years being involved in professional shows such as "A Day through Rythm and Sound" and "Shuffle, Spring, Toe" at the Burlington Theatre as well as The Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. Within this company, Emily got to work with well known tappers such as Ryan Foley, Shawn Byfeild and David Cox. She also had the opportunity to be involved in a music video "Live it Up" by Bellwood.
Emily is a recent graduate of In.Motion School of the Performing Arts and is now a student at Wilfred Laurier University where she is taking on the study of Kinesiology. She is very excited to be a part of In.Motions Faculty Team and can not wait to share her experience, knowledge, and love of dance with the students!
